Section 11.4. Technology Transfer
Return of Rights: The University may offer to return the proprietary rights to a disclosure to the inventor(s).
PolicyAt any point in the disclosure process, when it becomes evident that a given concept will not result in the type of activity that is contemplated by this program, the University may offer to return the disclosure to the inventor(s). This offer will be subject to the following:
If a decision is made by the inventor to take the technology and develop a spin-off company for that technology, all University activity and support is terminated in order to comply with the policies of the University and laws established by the State of Michigan.
ProcedureCorporate Services will contact the inventor and ask if they wish for the disclosure to be returned. If not, the disclosure will be deemed inactive and filed in the office of Corporate Services.
