10.3.3. PrintForm Automated Mailings


Definition

PrintForm: A software program which takes an ASCII data file, and prints out a full page, such as student bills.


General Information

PrintForm is for plain text documents without any special additional requirements.


Procedure

To have an ASCII data file processed, do the following:

  1. Complete a work request, available from Data Solutions by calling 7-2265, or download an Adobe Acrobat form from the Web site <http://dsrv.ops.it.mtu.edu/>. Include the following information:


    1. A valid University index number to be charged for the process.


    2. Department name


    3. Name of mailing


    4. Name of the requestor


    5. Name of list creator


    6. E-mail address of requestor


    7. E-mail address of list creator


    8. Priority Date


    9. Phone number


    10. List (file) Name


    11. Date (file) Created


    12. File Type: ASCII Fixed or ASCII Delimited, Microsoft Products, IQ, or other type


    13. Indicate the desired media for the output information:


    14. 1) A hard copy report, a report e-mailed to a specified address, or a report copied to diskette.


    NOTE: If the final document needs a signature or graphic included on the print, consult Data Solutions’ personnel prior to submitting work request.

  2. Submit the work request with the data to Data Solutions in room 217 of the Administration and Student Services Building.
