Chapter 10. Information Technology
Administration Computing Services (ACS): A unit of the department of Information Technology (IT), which provides central administrative computing systems support and University data administration for the Universitys central administrative computing system. ACS is responsible to insure the security and integrity of the central administrative system and database.
Data Custodian: The primary contact person (from a functional area) for anyone needing access to the central administrative computing system. The data custodian determines who receives access to the administrative system and what type of access will be granted.
The major functional areas supported by the central administrative computing system and their data custodians are:
ACS does not determine who receives access to the system and database. Each functional area has a designated data custodian who determines who receives access and what type of access will be granted. The data custodian is also responsible for supplying the user with system specific documentation and information on any training that may be required to use the system. The data custodian will either act as the contact for collecting and reporting system problems or provide the appropriate contact in their department for doing so.
To obtain access to the administrative system and/or data base, do the following:
