Chapter 10. Information Technology
System Administration Services (SAS): A unit of the department of Information Technology (IT) which provides the administrative departments with a high quality, low cost basic system administration and customer service package. This service is not meant to be comprehensive. Departments with specialty applications or environments may require additional personnel within their unit for optimum development and support.
Department Liaison: A contact person, for each department of SAS customers, for computer problems/requests. The department liaison either takes care of the problem or reports the problem/request to SAS.
SAS customer departments receive service by calling SAS directly at 7-3636 and by working through the assigned department liaison. A list of departmental liaisons are found on the SAS Web site <http://www.admin.mtu.edu/sas/>. Contact the director of SAS at 7-3636 for more information.
