10.1.1. Computer Executive Committee


Definition

Computer Executive Committee (CEX): A committee which sets the overall computing strategy at Michigan Tech. It maintains a close liaison with the Computer Advisory Committee (CAC) and receives advice from that body.


Policy

The membership of the CEX is made up as follows: (No representatives can be designated to take the place of the original membership.)

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs

Vice President for Administration

Executive Director of Enrollment Management

Director of Library

Dean of Engineering

Dean of Sciences and Arts

Dean of the School of Business and Economics

Dean of the School of Forestry and Wood Products

Dean of the School of Technology

Chair of the CAC

Vice Provost of Information Technology (IT)

Two at-large members; one from the Senate, one from the CAC. These are two-year, staggered terms.

The chair of the CEX shall be the provost and senior vice president for academic and student affairs. However, the provost and senior vice president for academic and student affairs may appoint another member (except for the vice provost of information technology) to serve as chair.

Meetings shall be called by the chair, but shall not be less than one meeting per academic semester. All meetings are open to any interested party unless the meeting is specifically declared as a closed session by the chair. Visitors may speak at meetings only on recognition by the chair.
