University Committee on General Education
|

Monitor the general education program, interpret general education policy, propose necessary policy changes for adoption by the University, and ensure that general education has adequate support and visibility within the University structure and publications. |

Two faculty appointed by the President, two nominated by the University Senate, plus chair, Senate Curriculum Committee. |

University Curriculum Review Committee
|
| Reports to: |
Executive Vice President and Provost |
| Charge: |
Review and make recommendations on all proposed additions, changes, and deletions to baccalaureate and graduate degree courses. The reviews are conducted to assure that changes in course offerings
- will be in the best interest of the University, particularly of students;
- will not cause unnecessary duplication of courses.

Nine members distributed among the departments so that, over a period of a few years, every department is represented. |

University Fringe Benefits Committee
|

Executive Vice President and Provost |
| Charge: |
Review and evaluate fringe benefits proposals. |
| Membership: |
Eleven faculty and staff appointed by the Assistant Director of Human Resources - Benefits. |

University Judiciary Committee
|
| Reports to: |
Vice Provost for Student Affairs |
| Charge: |
Serve as hearing body for disciplinary offenses, either at request of accused student or at request of Dean of Student Affairs. |
| Membership: |
Representatives appointed by the President of University Senate, President of Undergraduate Student Government, and Vice Provost for Student Affairs. |

University Library Committee
|
| Reports to: |
Director of the Library |
| Charge: |
Liaison between the academic departments and the Director of the Library; body to provide recommendations to the Library. |
| Membership: |
Faculty representatives, graduate student and undergraduate student representative. |

University Sabbatical Leave Committee
|

| Charge: |
Review and make recommendations to the President on all applications for sabbatical leave. |
| Membership: |
Faculty appointed by the President, with advice of the University Senate. |

University Scholarship Committee

Award all scholarships from University or departmental funds. |

Faculty and staff representatives appointed by the President with recommendations from the Scholarship Committee. |

Conduct studies in matters affecting academic policy and performance at all levels, and to prepare recommendations thereon for submittal to the President of the University for appropriate action (Constitution, Art. II). |
