Daniel D. Greenlee is a native of Calumet, Michigan. He received his B.S. degree in business administration in 1974 from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Michigan. Mr. Greenlee is a certified public accountant in the State of Michigan.
Mr. Greenlee was appointed to his current position as the University's Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for the Board of Control on October 3, 2002. For the preceding year, Mr. Greenlee was appointed as the Interim CFO and Treasurer. As the CFO and Treasurer of the Board of Control, he is responsible for University investments, financial reporting, and for overseeing all accounting functions of the University.
Mr. Greenlee was hired as Controller at the University in November of 1999. As the Controller of the University he was responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, plant fund, research accounting, purchasing, property office, and financial reporting and tax issues.
Prior to coming to the University, Mr. Greenlee served for three years as senior vice president/controller at D&N Bank, Hancock, Michigan. He was responsible for accounting, tax planning/preparation, risk management, profit modeling, and SEC/OTS reporting. He also directed the preparation of all financial statements and worked closely with internal and external auditors. Mr. Greenlee began his career at D&N Bank in March of 1984 and prior to becoming their senior vice president/controller, he served in a variety of positions, such as: the manager/secondary market services, assistant vice president/secondary market, assistant vice president/financial analysis, vice president/asset management, and vice president/assistant treasurer/portfolio manager.
In January 1981, Mr. Greenlee served as the vice president/finance for Laydon Enterprises, Inc. a holding company with annual sales of $5 million. Mr. Greenlee was initially hired as the controller for the company, but was then promoted to vice president in 1982.
Mr. Greenlee's early career experience began as the senior auditor for Arthur Young and Company, CPA from 1974 to 1977 and a cost accounting supervisor for Niagara of Wisconsin Paper Corporation from 1977 to 1981.
