Chapter 8. General
Effective Date: 10/04/2007

8.4. University Residence Hall Visitation Policy

Visitation is interpreted as a social visit of relatively short duration. This should not be confused with housing guests. Considerate use of the visitation privilege is the most important factor contributing to the success of a visitation policy.

  1. Visiting should not interfere with the rights of roommates and other residents in the hall.
  2. Sponsoring students shall assume strict responsibility for their guest or guests and for adhering to these guidelines.
  3. Guests must be escorted at all times. Violations of the visitation policy will be handled through the existing University disciplinary channels.
  4. Individuals present in any residence hall living areas who are not residents of that hall or invited guests of a resident may be treated as trespassers.
