Capital Campaign Information

Michigan Technological University has a long history of academic excellence, a caring faculty and staff, outstanding students and alumni, and a commitment to innovation in education and research. To enhance its reputation as a leading-edge university in the next millennium, Michigan Tech will undertake the largest capital campaign in its history starting in 1999. The basic goals of the campaign are to establish endowments for faculty and student needs, enhance facilities, and develop educational initiatives.

To prepare for this major fund-raising effort, the University has established a task force comprised of alumni, faculty, students, administrators, corporate executives, and Board of Control members. The task force is charged with identifying the needs of the University, determining funding priorities, and communicating these needs and priorities to the campus community.

Although the capital campaign will not be formally launched until 1999, the University has been actively engaged in a careful planning process to assure a successful outcome. This Web site will keep you informed of ongoing developments in the planning process and in the campaign itself. You can access the minutes of task force meetings, the original list of projects, and the project summaries developed by subcommittees.

The University welcomes input from the campus community, alumni, and other interested persons. You may direct any questions or comments to: Dr. John Sellars by e-mail at: jsellars@mtu.edu, or by telephone at: 906-487-1808. Together we can ensure that Michigan Tech will be well prepared to meet the challenges and needs of the 21st century.
