GLO RECOVERY WORKSHOP
Michigan Tech’s Surveying Engineering students invite you to attend a GLO recovery outing this September. GLO retracement experts Patrick Leemon, P.S. and Stephen Szyszkoski, P.S., will host an open discussion on Friday evening prior to the corner search as well as oversee and guide participants in the actual field process. This gathering is intended for those licensed surveyors and students who always wanted to recover an original General Land Office corner or hone their retracement skills. There are two GLO sites that we will be recovering and both are William A. Burt corners. It will be a great find and may be something that you will want to record. Be prepared to do some moderate hiking through cedar, tamarack and tag alder. It is not recommended for those who may be physically challenged. This isn’t your normal seminar with a three ring binder full of pages you’ll never look at again. You’ll get minimum baggage and maximum exposure for a memorable experience.

CONTENT:
ª Friday: Catered dinner followed by an indoor presentation which covers the GLO history for this year’s corner search.
ª Cadastral Software Demonstration (WinGMM)
ª Participants will be provided a packet containing maps, aerial photos, and GLO documentation.
ª Saturday: Field reconnaissance, i.e. (Possible ankle deep water) with lunch in the field provided.
